What Services are offered?
We offer:Companionship, Meal Preparation, House and Lawn care, Laundry Services, Medication Reminders, Personal Hygiene and Dressing Services, Transportation, Errand Running and Respite Care.
Who pays for these services?
Private individuals, Medicaid and some Long-Term Care Insurances pay for home care services. Medicare does not currently cover these expenses.
Is there a minimum number of hours required?
Yes, we require that caregivers be in the home at least four hours at a time. This allows us to fully care for your loved one without having to rush to get everything done.
How do I know what occurs each day?
Through our online Family Portal, you can see what has occurred each day with your loved one, leave messages or reminders for your caregiver and see the name and a picture of the caregiver that is caring for your loved one.
How are your caregivers selected?
Our caregivers go through a rigorous screening process before they are hired. We only select the very best to interview. If they pass through our selective interview process, we then perform stringent background checks on all of our caregivers. This includes national and local background checks as well as drug screening on all caregivers before they start to work for us. We also ensure all certifications and registrations are up to date. This includes any state registries they may have (CNA, RN, LPN, etc.), CPR and TB test along with our company educational standards.
Can you administer medicines?
Unfortunately, we are prohibited by state law from giving medicines. However, we can remind our clients in person or by phone to take the medicines scheduled for a given time.
What are the hours you provide services?
We can provide caregivers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Are you insured?
Yes, we have both liability and workman’s comp insurance.
Who decides what my family member needs?
We have a nurse on staff who will meet with each family. Together the nurse and family formulate a care plan which is then carried out by our caregivers.
Who employs the caregiver?
Each caregiver is an employee of Cooperative Home and Health Services. We take care of all human resources aspects of employment including: payroll, taxes and all benefits.
Who chooses my caregiver?
You do. If time permits, you interview caregivers to find the best fit. If a caregiver is needed immediately, we can use our caregiver matching software to help find a good fit.
